Shawn
Wright sings lead vocals and plays guitar. Shawn was born in Loveland,
Colorado July 30, 1976, son of Betty Wright and Jim Lindenmuth.
His father Jim, being a Bluegrass musician, had a major influence
on Shawn's style. Shawn started playing the guitar at the age of
16 and was gigging by the tender age of 18. Over the next few years
he would perform all over the state of Colorado and Wyoming with
his band, Switchback. The band gathered an extensive fan base, had
their performances broadcast on radio, and received critical acclaim.
Shawn wrote most of the groups' material and when the band broke
up in 2000, he carried the songs with him.
Shawn has
hooked up with the Colorado harmonica legend known only as the Mad
Dog. Renown for his raucous leads, funky rhythms, and raw and soulful
blues, Mad Dog continues to expand his stylistic repertoire to match
Shawn’s expansive song writing talents and their common love
for diverse musical styles. Together the duo, Mr. Wright and the
Dog, are developing a loyal following that enjoy their unique blend
of “lectro-coustic” stylings that run the gamut from
metal to bluegrass to ass kicking blues.
A
live version of Shawn's "Something Better Than This" is included on
the the Live
at The Depot CD. |
